We had a great time California this summer! We swam alot,
played at the beach,

had fun at the Santa Monica Pier,

played a little golf,
celebrated the 24th of July by shooting rubberband rifles and roping wooden steers,
and even had time for a date night at the Hollywood Bowl with Faith Hill and the symphony!
It was a perfect trip!

Buckaroo Breakfast

After promising Livi we could go to the Snake River Stampede this year, I realized that we were going to be in California on the rodeo days. Luckily, we were able to attend the "Buckaroo Breakfast" where they serve a cowboy breakfast and you can watch some early competition for the rodeo (at least I think that's what we saw!!). Livi loved every minute of it, Lola thought it was too stinky, and Trenton just loved walking up and down the stairs in the arena. The whole time, all I was thinking was, "When in Idaho..." We are definitely doing as Idahoans do!!
Livi took this "sweet" action shot.
And this picture just cracks me up.

Fourth of July
Our Fourth started with a neighborhood pancake breakfast and bike parade. The girls decorated their bikes and followed the vintage bicycle around the parade route. After the parade, we headed out to Melba for a small-town American parade. Melba never disappoints!
After the parade, we rested for awhile, then spent the rest of the day making the pinwheels for these cupcakes!:-) No, not that long, but they did take MUCH longer than expected. One of those projects I started and had to finish. They turned out pretty cute, though!
Later in the afternoon, we attended the baptism of Livi's good friend, Chase. After the baptism, we joined his family for a yummy bbq. The kids had a great time playing Star Wars. Livi takes it a little more seriously than the others. . .
We headed home and did a few fireworks. Lola LOVED the sparklers. Her face says it all!
Trenton was a little too young for the sparklers, so he opted for the hose. All in all, a great day!
