Horse Riding Lessons

Olivia has been taking riding lessons for the last few months. She loves it! Her teacher is so great...she has Livi do everything, from putting the saddle on before a ride, to cleaning the hooves and brushing the the horse after. Livi comes home after each lesson teaching us new things about horses. It's so fun to see her so excited to learn about something Rich and I know very little about. We are all learning alot! And it's also just about the cutest thing ever...

My sweet little girl...

is an army ranger! :-)

First Day of School

Olivia started 2nd grade on Monday! She loves her new teacher, Mrs. Stacee Ash, (sound familiar Tennille??) and is ready for a great year!

Girls' Weekend

Katie, Jen, Mom and I got together in Salt Lake for an unplanned, but much needed, girls' weekend. It was so fun to just get together with the girls, though Mom said many times that she wished the grandkids had come too...Jen and I couldn't have disagreed more! :-) We got pedicures,
ate at yummy restaurants,
had great conversation, and just really enjoyed the weekend together. We also had some really good laughs...like "Why is this yellow?" and Mom trying to talk to Dad on voice mail. I sure love my family--thanks for a great weekend ladies!

Going Private

Olivia is Seven!

I can't believe we have a seven-year-old! On, Monday, Rich and I asked Olivia what she'd like to do for her birthday on Thursday. She said "after my birthday party with my friends, I want to go rafting down the river with you and then have spaghetti and meatballs for dinner." We had not planned a "friend" party, so that took us by surprise. But, of course, Liv remembered that she had a family party last year, and this was her year! So we quickly made up invitations and delivered them to three of her neighborhood friends. Then we came up with some games and a cake design for her "horse party".

We bobbed for apples, had a "barrel-racing" obstacle course, "roped" a horse, and had a horse round-up. It was cute and fun and very low-key...just our style. It's always fun for Rich and I to see Olivia interacting with her friends.

After the party, we got ready for another rafting trip down the Boise river. The girls and Rich had a great time floating the river while Trenton and I drove the drop-off and pick-up car. In Rich's words, "If it wasn't considered child abuse..." Trenton and I would have gone down with them too! I really missed out! We came home and made a yummy pasta dinner and celebrated our sweet, happy, fun little seven-year-old. We sure love our Livi!

P.S. I should also write that Olivia got a new bike for her birthday, as she has outgrown her other one, but I think that the Army ranger dress-up set she got from her friend rivals the bike! She's been running around the house dressed in full ranger gear, including a helmet, night-vision goggles, grenades, and what Rich has dubbed a "wood-carving knife"....such a funny little girl!

Osgie Family Reunion

We had such a fun family reunion last week in Park City. Russ and Lolly rented a home that we could all stay in together for three nights, and we all had a blast! 16 grandchildren and 12 adults made for a very full house, but the kids had so much fun with their cousins, and Rich and I really enjoyed "catching up" with everyone, that the craziness was easily overlooked! Unfortunately, I didn't take a single picture all week, except for this one on our drive home...these girls sure played hard! Thanks Russ and Lolly for a perfect reunion! And, Lis and Mary, please send all those pictures you took my way! :-)
